Overview

AccelerateBaltimore is a 13-week accelerator program that offers $50,000 in seed funding and hands-on support to early-stage technology startups in Baltimore. The program is an initiative of the Emerging Technology Centers (ETC), Baltimore's award-winning incubator, and the Abell Foundation. It aims to bridge the gap between innovative ideas and market entry by providing resources, mentorship, potential partnerships, and coworking space to selected startups. The accelerator focuses on startups developing new technologies for existing customer problems, replacement technologies offering substantial cost and performance improvements, or new technologies creating new market opportunities. It targets sectors such as technology, healthcare, software, mobile development, electronics, FinTech, EdTech, enterprise IT, internet and IoT, security, storage, mHealth, big data, beauty, health care, and wellness. Since its inception, AccelerateBaltimore has invested in multiple companies, including Barttron Inc., which developed Chord, a smart collar designed to provide dog owners with a punishment-free electronic training and monitoring device. The program has a track record of supporting startups that utilize modern technologies to create innovative business solutions, aiming to bring them to market within three months.
