Acurio Ventures is a European venture capital firm that invests in early-stage startups across various sectors. The firm focuses on companies with marketplace, subscription, and e-commerce business models, preferring capital-efficient, revenue-driven companies located in Europe and the Americas. Acurio Ventures has a strong preference for co-leading or following investment rounds, making decisions quickly and leveraging its entrepreneurial experience, operational know-how, platform resources, and broad network to support founders on their journey to success. The firm has assets under management of close to €300 million and has invested in more than 90 companies, including Seedtag, Jobandtalent, Indexa Capital, Lingokids, Preply, Refurbed, and Lookiero, as well as in around 15 European VC funds. Acurio Ventures operates with a generalist sector approach, investing across the whole of Europe, and has a team of 12 people based in Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona, and London. The name 'Acurio' is inspired by Juan de Acurio, one of the 12 sailors who returned to port from the expedition around the world led by Magellan and Elcano five centuries ago. Although he was never in the limelight of history, Juan de Acurio played an essential role in the expedition and was instrumental in its successful completion.
