AIC-IIITH Foundation

Overview

AIC-IIITH Foundation is an Atal Incubation Center established in December 2018 by the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) in collaboration with Surge Impact Foundation. Supported by the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India, the foundation focuses on incubating and supporting tech-based social enterprises aiming to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It provides a collaborative space of over 10,000 square feet, including co-working spaces, conference rooms, and meeting areas, situated within the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at IIIT-Hyderabad. The foundation's flagship AIC Incubation Program offers selected startups essential hard and soft skills, along with mentorship, to succeed as businesses with social impact. Entrepreneurs are also provided opportunities to pitch for seed funding upon program completion. AIC-IIITH Foundation aims to nurture the social enterprise ecosystem by acting as a platform to share ideas and insights, leveraging the agglomeration and network effects of being situated within IIIT-Hyderabad's innovation and startup ecosystem. Since its inception, AIC-IIITH Foundation has supported numerous social enterprises, contributing to the growth of the social impact sector in India. Its strategic location within IIIT-Hyderabad allows it to leverage the institute's research and innovation capabilities, fostering a conducive environment for startups focused on technology-driven social change.
