Overview

AIM-HI Accelerator Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2019 by the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Its mission is to bridge the gap between research breakthroughs and clinical trials, aiming to develop innovative cancer therapies and technologies that can save patients' lives. The organization focuses on providing seed funding to early-stage oncology and STEM companies, addressing the 'Valley of Death' where traditional venture capital is often unavailable. The fund's strategy involves a venture philanthropy approach, combining investment funding with coaching, advising, and building a continuous global network. Since its inception, AIM-HI has supported approximately 30 start-up oncology and STEM companies. The organization also hosts the AIM-HI Venture Competition, a program designed to support scientist-entrepreneurs in the oncology arena by offering investment funding alongside mentorship and access to a global network. AIM-HI's philosophy centers on creating a sustainable model for cancer research funding and STEM entrepreneurship. By recycling philanthropic capital, the fund aims to magnify social impact and improve the sustainability of social enterprises.
