Air Liquide Venture Capital, known as ALIAD, is the corporate venture capital arm of Air Liquide, established in 2013. By leveraging Air Liquide's industrial and technological expertise, ALIAD supports the development of these start-ups through strategic investments and potential collaborations with Air Liquide's global entities. ALIAD's investment strategy encompasses various stages, including Pre-Seed, Seed, Early Stage, Series A, Series B, Growth, Late Stage, and Pre-IPO. The fund typically invests between €100,000 and €1.5 million, targeting companies that align with Air Liquide's commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement. Geographically, ALIAD has a diverse portfolio spanning countries such as France, the United States, China, Germany, Taiwan, Belgium, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Argentina, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Israel, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Ukraine. Over the years, ALIAD has invested in more than 35 companies, committing nearly €100 million in capital. Approximately one-third of these investments are in the impact sector, reflecting Air Liquide's dedication to environmental sustainability and societal progress. Notable investments include P2H2, a U.S.-based AEM electrolyser start-up, and a partnership with Rothschild & Co and the Solar Impulse Foundation to launch a €200 million fund focused on scaling up companies developing environment-friendly solutions.
