Alejandro Artacho

Overview

Alejandro Artacho is an angel investor and the CEO of Spotahome, a company he co-founded in 2014. He studied Law and Business in Madrid and speaks English, Chinese, and Spanish. After university, he moved to China for three years, where he established two companies: an exporting business and a travel agency. This experience led him to launch a startup related to job mobility worldwide, which was selected in competitions in Portugal and Spain and incubated in the IE Venture Lab in Madrid. He later worked in Lisbon and London in the real estate industry, identifying a significant opportunity to transform the sector, which inspired him to launch Spotahome in 2014. As CEO, Artacho has led Spotahome to employ over 300 people directly and nearly 500 indirectly. The company has raised $72 million in capital, including a Series B led by Silicon Valley-based Kleiner Perkins. His investment focus includes real estate and technology sectors, particularly in areas such as real estate, property management, technology, software, consumer electronics, computer vision, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), productivity software, rental property, and PropTech. Artacho has been recognized for his entrepreneurial achievements, including being awarded CEO of the Year 2018 for Spain in Acquisition International Magazine's Global Excellence Awards 2018. He is also a member of the Spanish Startups Association and has been selected as an Endeavor entrepreneur in Tokyo, Japan, in July 2019. His investment strategy emphasizes supporting innovative companies that aim to disrupt traditional industries through technology and new business models.
