Overview

The Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF) is a not-for-profit initiative launched by Alibaba Group in 2015, dedicated to supporting Hong Kong-based entrepreneurs and young people in realizing their business and community aspirations. AEF provides investment capital and strategic guidance to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and penetrate global markets by leveraging Alibaba's vast ecosystem. AEF's investment program focuses on startups in the seed to late stages, with investments ranging from US$1 million to US$10 million. The fund is sector-agnostic but has key themes including AI, Industry 4.0, consumer goods, fintech, healthcare, and sustainability. The fund's geographical focus includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, and other international markets. In addition to financial support, AEF offers strategic guidance and mentorship to its portfolio companies, helping them scale and expand into other markets by leveraging resources from Alibaba Group's ecosystem. AEF also nurtures Hong Kong's startup ecosystem through initiatives like JUMPSTARTER, a platform for showcasing quality startups and providing networking opportunities, and HKAI LAB, a non-profit initiative advancing AI development. AEF's portfolio includes companies such as Grana, an online fashion brand; NOSH, a healthy food delivery service; and DayDayCook, a leading creator of food and lifestyle content in Asia. These investments demonstrate AEF's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Hong Kong.
