Overview

AlphaMundi Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to fostering sustainable and inclusive economic transformation in Africa and Latin America. By strengthening the long-term commercial viability of impact small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in these regions, the foundation aims to drive economic growth, job creation, and improved quality of life. Since its inception in 2016, AlphaMundi Foundation has supported 35 companies across 15 countries, catalyzing over USD 29 million in private sector investment. The foundation employs a multifaceted approach to achieve its mission, offering catalytic funding such as returnable grants, concessional loans, and first-loss guarantees. Additionally, it provides gender and climate-focused technical assistance to high-impact SMEs, ensuring that these enterprises are well-equipped to address social and environmental challenges. Through its programs, AlphaMundi Foundation has contributed to the scaling of businesses that promote innovation, deliver essential goods and services, and integrate women and youth into the economic mainstream. AlphaMundi Foundation's commitment to sustainable development is further demonstrated by its focus on gender lens investing for climate (GLIC). This approach integrates gender and climate considerations into all investment decisions, recognizing the interconnectedness of these issues in achieving long-term prosperity.
