Amos Andersons fond, formerly known as Konstsamfundet, is a Finnish endowment established in 1940 by newspaper magnate and cultural patron Amos Anderson. The foundation's mission is to support the culture of Finland's Swedish-speaking minority, promoting arts, culture, and education. It owns and operates the Amos Anderson Art Museum in Helsinki, the largest private art museum in Finland, and the Söderlångvik Manor on Kimito Island, which includes a museum and engages in forestry and apple cultivation. The foundation also owns 49% of Hufvudstadsbladet Ab, the publisher of Finland's largest Swedish-language newspaper. The foundation's investment strategy is diversified across various asset classes, including real estate, equity, private equity, venture capital, fixed income, commodities, hedge funds, infrastructure, collectibles and art, crypto, distressed and special situations, and ESG and impact investing. It focuses on growth, late-stage, pre-IPO, buyout, turnaround, and distressed stages of investment. Geographically, the foundation's investments span Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, United States, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Amos Andersons fond's portfolio includes direct holdings such as the Forum Shopping Centre on Mannerheimintie, the Kulturkasernen entertainment complex at Narinkka Square, and Amos Anderson’s former home on Yrjönkatu. The foundation's asset mix also includes international securities and a 4,300-hectare forestry operation. In 2025, the foundation allocated approximately €16.1 million in grants and subsidies, reflecting its commitment to supporting cultural and educational initiatives. The foundation's investment philosophy emphasizes long-term value creation and diversification, aiming to achieve both stable direct returns and substantial capital appreciation over time.
