Arbitrum Gaming Ventures

Venture Capital United States

Overview

Arbitrum Gaming Ventures (AGV) is a venture capital firm dedicated to accelerating the adoption of gaming and entertainment on the Arbitrum platform. By providing capital, tools, and strategic support, AGV helps high-potential teams launch breakthrough gaming and entertainment projects on Arbitrum. AGV deploys investment and grant funding to proven publishers and rising indies, using flexible deal structures such as grants, co-investments, equity, or token models to meet entrepreneurs where they are and support the highest-potential projects. AGV offers a range of support, including capital to launch, grow acquisition, and scale operations, along with strategic partnerships to empower builders at every stage of development, from AAA studios to indie creators. Gaming unlocks new use cases across Arbitrum’s tech, driving broader adoption and diversifying the network beyond DeFi into one of the most promising growth verticals. By offering powerful tools and targeted incentives to help top talent bring their projects to life, Arbitrum Gaming Ventures fuels innovation and positions Arbitrum as the premier destination for the industry's most ambitious projects. AGV's first investment cohort, announced in May 2025, represents a commitment of $10 million in capital, supporting a cohort of experienced founders, innovative distribution models, and the development of high-quality gaming content across genres and geographies. The cohort comprises games development, publishing platforms, and infrastructure spanning AAA experiences, social and casual categories, and emerging distribution channels. Notably, the chosen projects include Wildcard, a 2v2 collectible card action game from proven founders Paul Bettner and Katy Drake Bettner; Hyve Labs, an ecosystem that enables seamless distribution of Hyve and partner games across any channel; T-Rex, a purpose-built blockchain for consumer applications; Xai, the world's first Layer 3 solution for indie gaming; and Proof of Play, a technology-focused game studio led by Zynga alum Amitt Mahajan. In October 2025, AGV announced that Michael Chang, a games veteran with 25 years of experience in venture capital and gaming, joined as its first General Manager. Chang's venture capital and gaming experience will help shape AGV’s investment activities across games, technology, and finance sectors. As General Manager, Chang will lead strategy, investments, and partnerships to drive long-term growth of the AGV portfolio and broader ecosystem, serving as both a capital allocator and public-facing leader. His expansive network and eye for identifying talented teams will help AGV uncover even more promising builders for the Arbitrum ecosystem.
