Armenia Startup Academy

Overview

Armenia Startup Academy is a pre-acceleration program based in Yerevan, Armenia, dedicated to supporting early-stage tech startups. The academy offers two main programs: Pre-acceleration and Traction. The Pre-acceleration program guides prototype-stage startups through idea validation, customer development, go-to-market strategy development, and pitching. The Traction program is an intensive mentorship-based growth program designed for companies that have gained initial traction and need assistance in intensifying it. Both programs aim to prepare startups to raise their pre-seed rounds and expand to global markets. The academy focuses on sectors such as life sciences, connected hardware, B2B SaaS, green tech, climate tech, energy efficiency, and the circular economy. It partners with leading funding, acceleration, and advisory institutions in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Africa to help Armenian tech companies overcome market entry obstacles. The programs are supported by the Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training in Armenia project, commissioned by the German Government and implemented by GIZ. Armenia Startup Academy has a track record of assisting startups in raising significant funding and achieving international expansion. For instance, Embry Tech, a graduate of the academy, transformed shoes into biometric data tracking and wellness monitoring devices, providing users with recommendations for a healthier lifestyle. The startup secured customers from Armenia, including Globbing and Evocabank, and conducted pilots in California and Massachusetts. Additionally, the academy has hosted multiple demo days and supported various startups in their growth and development.
