Overview

Axis ICO is a venture and private capital manager wholly owned by Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), dedicated to fostering the growth, development, and internationalization of Spanish companies through equity and quasi-equity instruments. Established in 1986 and registered as number one with the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), Axis has been operating in the venture capital market for over 39 years. Throughout its history, it has invested more than €3.9 billion in the growth and progress of over 280 companies and funds. As a subsidiary of the ICO Group, Axis acts in public-private partnership with the venture capital sector in all areas of activity and currently has commitments to manage funds for more than €12.15 billion in its four funds, which would allow a joint mobilization of public and private resources of more than €26.6 billion over the next five years, depending on the capacity to absorb resources and materialize projects in the private sector. Axis' investment is aimed at promoting the revitalization and consolidation of the private ecosystem of venture capital funds, both in the early stages (venture capital, incubation, technology transfer, and business angels, together with the European Investment Fund), as well as in relation to expansion, growth, and debt, thus supporting the creation and growth of highly innovative and technology-based companies. Axis ICO's investment strategy encompasses a wide range of sectors, including technology, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, media, real estate, transportation, utilities, retail, education, agriculture, and manufacturing.
