Overview

Booster Innovation Fund (BIF) is a managed investment scheme established to invest in early-stage companies founded on intellectual property originated or developed in New Zealand. The fund aims to provide investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of such companies, selected for their potential to become commercially successful globally. BIF is listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) under the code BIF, allowing investors to buy or sell units on the NZX or directly with the manager. The fund's investment strategy involves seeking a diversified portfolio of investments across various business sectors and stages of development, in conjunction with a range of other specialist investors, to optimize expected returns from early-stage investments. As of 30 September 2025, BIF's net asset value was $21.9 million. The fund has established strategic partnerships with leading New Zealand universities, including Victoria University of Wellington, University of Otago, and University of Auckland, to strengthen its position as a key early-stage venture investor in local science and innovation. BIF's portfolio includes investments in companies such as Indus, a seed-stage New Zealand company developing a unique finance technology platform to facilitate investment into India for people living abroad.
