Buddy Arnheim

Overview

Buddy Arnheim is an angel investor specializing in early-stage technology investments. He has been involved in funding, building, and advising numerous technology companies over the past 25 years. His investment focus spans various sectors, including consumer internet, fintech, enterprise solutions, hardware, and insurance. He has invested in companies such as OpenTable, TicketsNow, Trulia, Quizlet, HotelTonight, and Mystery Science. Additionally, he has supported fintech and insuretech platforms like Hippo Insurance and Lively HSA, enterprise solutions such as Cloudera and Box, and hardware and deep tech businesses like Skydio, R-Zero Systems, Level Home, and SpinLaunch. Prior to his current role, Arnheim founded and managed Orthogonal Ventures, an early-stage investment fund, and co-managed Hut8 Ventures, a late-stage venture investment fund. He also founded and led the Emerging Company and Venture Capital Practice at Perkins Coie. As an operator, Arnheim co-founded Titan Aerospace, a solar-powered atmospheric satellite company acquired by Google in 2014. He holds a BS with a concentration in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a JD from the University of Illinois, where he teaches a course on entrepreneurship. He resides in Los Altos Hills, California, with his family. When not engaged in his professional endeavors, Arnheim enjoys swimming, surfing, and exploring the outdoors.
