CIO Angel Network (CAN) is a syndicate of technology professionals from large enterprises in India, established in January 2015. The network focuses on seed-stage investments, aiming to accelerate startups through fundraising support and customer discovery. CAN operates chapters in Mumbai and Delhi, concentrating on technology and technology-enabled deals. Members collaborate on screening and evaluation but make individual investment decisions, providing startups with opportunities for business relationships beyond funding. The network's mission is to support early-stage companies by offering capital and strategic guidance. Members possess a broad array of business domain experiences and technology skills, assisting in screening and evaluating potential portfolio companies. They also serve as valuable resources for guidance and advice to entrepreneurs and their businesses once an investment is made. CAN is not an investment fund but rather a network of investors who make individual seed investment decisions after working together to evaluate candidate companies. CIO Angel Network is an initiative by Anoop Mathur and is owned by CORE Media Group, a multi-platform media company focusing on ICT enterprises, CIO community, and technology startups. The network's goal is to invest in seed-stage companies, with members exercising autonomy in making funding decisions. CAN provides startups with opportunities to form relationships with members, potentially resulting in business opportunities beyond investments.
