Conquest
Overview
Conquest is an independent asset management firm specializing in European infrastructure investments, focusing on energy and digital transitions. The firm invests in high-quality infrastructure businesses that form the backbone of the global economy, aiming to create long-term, sustainable wealth for its clients, which range from large institutions to individuals. Conquest's investment strategy emphasizes responsible investment, believing that value creation should align with environmental and societal sustainability. The firm's portfolio includes operational wind and solar farms, as well as a European network of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Conquest has made significant investments in renewable power, with assets located across Europe, comprising a diverse technology base of wind, utility-scale solar, distributed generation, storage, and other renewable technologies. The firm utilizes its fully integrated global operating platform and in-house expertise to maintain facilities, add value organically, and efficiently integrate new assets, realizing cost synergies in the process. Conquest's business is underpinned by stable cash flows, with the majority of its power contracted under long-term, inflation-linked contracts. In April 2024, Conquest entered the Finnish renewable power market by acquiring a 182MW onshore wind portfolio developed by Winda Energy, a Finnish renewable energy developer majority-owned by Czech BHM Renewables. This acquisition is part of a broader strategic partnership encompassing additional onshore wind projects totaling 500MW. The transaction represents an expected phased total investment of approximately €1 billion, to be gradually deployed between 2024 and 2028. The first two wind projects are at an advanced stage of development, with the first 182MW expected to reach ready-to-build by Q4 2024 and the rest expected to reach the same stage by Q4 2025. Winda Energy Oy will complete the development and manage the construction, with expected start dates of commercial operations ranging from 2026 to 2028 for the portfolio. Conquest's investment philosophy centers on responsible investment, integrating environmental and societal considerations into its decision-making process. The firm believes that value creation should not come at the expense of sustainable development, and it strives to align its investments with the broader goals of the energy transition and digitalization. Conquest's team of professionals, based in Dublin and Paris, manages assets worth approximately €500 million and has made 25 investments across Europe, reflecting its commitment to fostering sustainable infrastructure and contributing to the global economy's backbone.
