Overview
Daniel Gutenberg is a pioneering Swiss angel investor with a focus on early-stage technology companies. He has invested in over 100 startups, including 15 that have achieved unicorn status. His portfolio spans various sectors, including technology, fintech, robotics, and business software. He is also a Venture Partner at VI Partners, a Swiss venture capital firm, and has served on the boards of several public and private companies. Gutenberg began his career as the founder and CEO of Gutenberg Communication Systems AG, an IT distributor he established in 1991 and sold to the Telindus Group in 2000. After the sale, he became Country Manager for Telindus in Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary. In 2003, he joined VI Partners as a Venture Partner focusing on IT investments. He has been recognized with numerous awards, including being named Business Angel of the Year in 2011 by the Swiss Private Equity & Corporate Finance Association (SECA). In addition to his investment activities, Gutenberg is actively involved in various organizations. He is a member of the Circle of Investors of BrainsToVentures and co-founded the Crypto Finance Conference in St. Moritz, Switzerland. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a global network of young business leaders. Fluent in English, French, and German, he holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ecole Technique Supérieure in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
