David Roux is an American angel investor and philanthropist based in Virginia, United States. He is the managing partner of BayPine, a private equity firm he co-founded. Prior to BayPine, Roux co-founded Silver Lake Partners, a leading technology-focused private equity firm, where he served as co-CEO and chairman. He has also held leadership roles at Oracle Corporation and Lotus Development Corporation. Roux began his career as a software entrepreneur, founding Datext, the first commercial CD-ROM publishing company, which was acquired by Lotus Software. Roux's investment strategy focuses on technology-driven companies across various stages, from seed to late-stage investments. He has a diverse portfolio that includes companies in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, media and entertainment, consumer goods, energy, telecommunications, retail, transportation, education, real estate, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, and construction.
