Diverse Angels

Overview

Diverse Angels is a mission-driven angel group dedicated to increasing diversity in angel and venture capital communities. Their mission is to drive diversity in angel and venture communities to have more inclusive participation in wealth creation. They charge 0% management fees and 0% carry fee on profits, meaning their angels pay no fees. Their '0/00 Model' ('triple zero') disrupts the standard '2/20 model' (2% in fees & 20% of profits). They believe it keeps interests aligned and supports their mission and vision to bridge the wealth gap through tech, capital, and equity. Diverse Angels is a group of investors from underrepresented backgrounds (Black, Latinx, POC, Women, LGBTQ+). The members connect to share opportunities, provide access, and secure ownership in startups. They have over 150 angels invested, with more than 90% being Black or Latinx and over 40% being women. The team is 100% volunteer-led, responsible for investments, operations, and fostering the community. Any community member can contribute and gain experience to become a VC or level-up as an angel investor. In search of the best founders, Diverse Angels leverages the size, strength, and diversity of its community to source founders from all backgrounds and maintains high standards of rigor when choosing investments. As an angel group, they are open to all good investment opportunities across stages, sectors, and geographies, but they have preferences stated below. They also prioritize that the majority of deals completed support diverse founders (Black, Latinx, POC, Women, LGBTQ+).
