Overview

DNB Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of DNB, Norway's largest financial services group. The firm focuses on investing in promising start-ups that have a confirmed business model and paying customers. With a pool of NOK 250 million, DNB Ventures primarily invests in minority stakes, typically ranging from 10% to 20%, in companies at the seed stage. The geographical focus is on the Nordic region, leveraging DNB's market insights and network. The firm primarily invests in companies associated with the financial sector, including those delivering financial services or products, or those integral to a financial value chain. In addition to capital, DNB Ventures offers active ownership, providing support to the board on corporate governance and capital raising, input on strategy and business development, access to internal expertise within the group and its external network, and opportunities for collaboration with relevant business areas. Notable investments include Kvist, an innovative project management tool for environmental certification in the building and construction industry; Celsia, a leading platform for sustainability reporting; Quantfolio, a digital platform for investment advice; FundingPartner, Norway's leading provider of crowdlending services; Unite Living, a cloud-based management system for professional landlords; Aiia, a leading provider of Open Banking services acquired by Mastercard in 2021; Luca Labs, an innovative accounting solution for small businesses and individual companies; and Payr, DNB Ventures' first investment, which started as an app for invoice payments and expanded into price comparison services before being acquired by Hudya in 2019.
