Overview

Emirates Angels Investors Association is a non-profit organization established in 2020, officially registered under the Ministry of Community Development in the UAE and supported by the Ministry of Economy. The association aims to accelerate the startup ecosystem by forming a network of passionate and active investors who contribute to early-stage investments in the region. It supports the local application of global best practices in angel investing, providing education for both angel investors and startups, and connecting stakeholders within the region and internationally. The association offers educational resources, coaching, and mentorship programs to investors and entrepreneurs, focusing on the fundamentals of startups, angel investing, and venture capital. As a non-profit entity, Emirates Angels does not invest directly in startups; however, its members, who include elite youth UAE national angel investors and expert board members, can invest individually, through funds, or side vehicles. The association serves as a platform connecting startups to angel investor groups and ecosystem partners both regionally and globally, advocating for the development of early-stage startups and engaging with government and ecosystem partners to address challenges and support innovation. Emirates Angels has been recognized for its contributions to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, receiving awards such as Best Ecosystem Enabler of the Year and Startups Enabler of the Year from Entrepreneur Middle East. The association's initiatives include launching a Business Directory on their mobile app, which lists tech startups to facilitate connections between angel investors and entrepreneurs. This directory aims to make it easier for investors to discover investment opportunities and for startups to reach potential investors. The mobile app is available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery, providing a platform for users to browse live business opportunities, submit and track requests, and stay updated with new activities. Emirates Angels continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the startup landscape in the UAE and the broader MENA region, fostering a vibrant ecosystem that supports innovation and economic growth.
