Equita Smart Capital – ELTIF is a private equity fund launched in 2021 by EQUITA Capital SGR, the asset management arm of the leading Italian independent investment bank, EQUITA Group. The fund focuses on investing in Italian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in sectors with sustainable long-term growth trends. It aims to support the development and competitiveness of these companies by providing long-term capital and managerial expertise. The fund's investment strategy allocates approximately 60-70% of its assets to private equity, 20-35% to public equity, and 5-10% to public debt. This diversified approach allows the fund to capitalize on opportunities in both private and public markets. As of July 2023, the fund successfully raised approximately €100 million, making it the largest non-captive alternative PIR in Italy. The fundraising was supported by primary private banking networks, including UniCredit Private Banking, Credem Euromobiliare Private Banking, Banca Sella, and Banca Sella Patrimoni & C. Equita Smart Capital – ELTIF has a track record of strategic investments in various sectors. Notably, in May 2025, the fund acquired a 39.1% stake in Demeglio, a historic jewelry company based in Valenza, Italy. This investment aims to accelerate Demeglio's growth by expanding its market reach and increasing production capacity. Additionally, in December 2024, the fund completed the acquisition of GT Emme, a company specializing in the production and commercialization of insoles and strips for women's luxury footwear. This acquisition is part of the fund's strategy to establish an integrated and certified Made in Italy supply chain for international fashion brands. These investments reflect the fund's commitment to supporting Italian SMEs and enhancing their global competitiveness.
