Equitage Ventures
Overview
Equitage Ventures is an early-stage AgeTech venture capital firm investing in technology and technology-enabled services for senior care. The firm provides capital, distribution, and strategic guidance to entrepreneurs addressing the unmet physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs of older adults. Equitage is active across all stages of the senior care continuum and the aging journey, bringing a comprehensive investment approach to improving both quality of care and quality of life for older adults. The firm's capital comes from leading facility, community, and home-based care providers and multi-billion dollar healthcare and consumer enterprises. Equitage leverages this extensive network to connect portfolio companies with key customers, strategic partners, top-tier talent, and seasoned advisors, empowering them to scale rapidly and deliver their needed, impactful solutions to more older adults and families. In April 2025, Equitage Ventures closed its inaugural fund, Equitage Ventures I, with $47.3 million. The fund targets early-stage tech and services companies, allowing Equitage to back best-in-class founders and executives operating in markets where the firm believes it can add the most value. The firm is actively seeking to invest in companies that will truly transform healthcare and is deploying capital into themes where it sees urgent need, real opportunity, or long-term transformation. This includes compliance infrastructure for senior housing and skilled nursing facilities, documentation automation for home and facility-based care, passive monitoring, oral health, dementia and behavioral health, care navigation, and family caregiving. Equitage Ventures is led by Russell Hirsch, PhD, MD, a seasoned healthcare and venture capital investor with over 30 years of experience, co-founder of Generator Ventures, and board member across multiple healthcare technology and senior care companies. He is joined by Adam Kaplan, MBA, CEO of Solera Senior Living, who brings deep operational and entrepreneurial expertise and serves on several industry advisory boards. Daniel Kaplan, MBA, MS, adds experience from Generator Ventures and ClearCare, with a focus on sourcing and diligence in AgeTech investments. The leadership team is supported by a strong advisory group, including Sara Ratner (healthcare innovator), Jennifer Meyer (value-based care expert), Arnold Whitman (senior living investment veteran), and Matthew Zubiller (healthcare technology leader).
