Erciyes Business Angel Network

Overview

Established in 2014 by Erciyes Teknopark A.Ş., Erciyes Business Angel Network (ERBAN) is Turkey's 14th and Anatolia's first accredited angel investor network. It aims to strengthen the regional entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting the realization and growth of value-added projects through angel investor assistance. ERBAN connects investors with high-potential, technology-focused startups, facilitating strategic and informed investments. The network offers investors direct access to early-stage ventures, opportunities in new sectors, and tax advantages through the Bireysel Katılım Yatırımcısı (BKY) license. ERBAN's mission is to create opportunities for innovative business ideas to transform into successful ventures and to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Its vision is to contribute to the national economy by facilitating the growth of high-value-added ventures into internationally operating corporate companies. ERBAN hosts monthly Invest Day events, connecting startups seeking investment with network member investors, either online or in person. As of 2023, the network comprises approximately 140 investors, with 67 holding the BKY license. To date, around 16 investments have been made within ERBAN, with investors primarily making individual investments. The network operates under the accreditation of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, ensuring a secure and transparent investment environment. ERBAN's strong infrastructure and collaborations aim to contribute to regional development by supporting the growth of innovative startups and providing investors with access to high-potential opportunities. The network focuses on technology-driven business models across various sectors, including technology, healthcare, real estate, financial services, consumer goods, energy, education, media, telecommunications, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, construction, and tourism. ERBAN's investment strategy emphasizes early-stage investments, particularly in pre-seed, seed, and Series A stages, with investment sizes ranging from $100,000 to $300,000. The network's activities are designed to foster collaboration between investors and entrepreneurs, enhancing the overall startup ecosystem in Turkey and Europe. Through its initiatives, ERBAN aims to create a sustainable and scalable impact on the entrepreneurial landscape, supporting the growth of innovative businesses and contributing to economic development. The network's commitment to providing value-added support to both investors and entrepreneurs underscores its role as a pivotal player in the regional and national startup ecosystem.
