Fern Mandelbaum

Overview

Fern Mandelbaum is an angel investor and former executive at Vista Venture Partners and Stanford. She specializes in creating and growing technology-focused businesses primarily in the consumer internet, mobile, media, and software sectors. Since 1998, she has worked with CEOs to develop and refine business concepts, recruit management teams, implement fundraising strategies, and establish strategic alliances. She has also been a mentor and advisor in various programs, including the Mayfield Fellows Program and StartX, Stanford’s accelerator. Additionally, she has lectured at Brown University, San Jose State, and in Stanford’s Ignite, Exec Ed, and Continuing Studies programs. Fern was co-founder and CEO of Skyline Products, a toy invention firm that was acquired by IDEO. She has also worked at Metcal, Bain and Company, SRI International, Hewlett Packard, and the Kyoto Shinyo Bank. Fern received her M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1988 and her B.A. in Economics from Brown University in 1984. She enjoys running, cycling, power-yoga, and going on walks with her students, colleagues, CEOs, family, and friends. She is married and has two children, Skylar and Miles.
