Fhunded Angels is an angel investor network providing seed capital for Lancashire-based startups. Established by Lancashire County Council, Fhunded Angels is thought to be the UK's first angel network to be led and managed by a local authority at such a scale. The network comprises a mix of seasoned investors, exited founders, successful entrepreneurs, and sector specialists, all with a shared affinity for Lancashire. Fhunded Angels aims to address the chronic lack of early-stage finance available to startups in the UK, especially outside of London. Fhunded Angels has been involved in several notable investments, including backing UrFuture, the UK's fastest-growing recruitment brand among Gen Z jobseekers, and supporting UAP, a Lancashire tech business developing a pioneering carbon reduction and gas recovery system.
