Overview

Fosun Health Capital is a venture capital firm established by Fosun Pharma, dedicated to investing in innovative drug products and technologies with rapid growth potential in the biotech industry. The firm was founded in August 2020 with an initial fund of RMB 1.5 billion, which was fully closed in February 2021. Its mission is to promote innovation in the biotech sector by leveraging strong support from the government and Fosun Pharma, assisting portfolio companies in their rapid development. The firm's investment focus includes gene therapy, cell therapy, and new biological entities (NBEs). In gene therapy, Fosun Health Capital aims to deliver target genes through innovative vectors to treat diseases caused by defective genes, achieving long-term remission or full recovery. In cell therapy, the firm tracks cutting-edge progress in autologous and allogeneic cell therapies for treating tumors, metabolic abnormalities, and aging. For NBEs, Fosun Health Capital explores cooperation opportunities with new entities such as bispecific antibodies, ADCs, and nucleic acid medicine, expanding horizons in drug discovery and design to create the next blockbuster. In July 2023, Fosun Health Capital reached a strategic partnership with Medicilon, a global integrated contract research organization (CRO), to provide innovative drug enterprises with services such as drug discovery, pharmaceutical research, preclinical research, and IND registration. This collaboration aims to facilitate cooperation in 10 innovative drug IND projects, incubating high-quality projects from universities and research institutes and introducing leading overseas biotechnology technologies and products to China through introduction and cooperation models.
