Overview

The Fraunhofer Technology Transfer Fund (FTTF) is a venture capital fund established in 2019 through a collaboration between the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the European Investment Fund (EIF). Its primary objective is to facilitate the commercialization of intellectual property generated by the 72 Fraunhofer Institutes across Germany. By providing early-stage financing, the fund aims to bridge the gap between research and market application, fostering the development of high-tech start-ups in Germany and Europe. FTTF focuses on investing in spin-offs and licensing models that emerge from Fraunhofer's extensive research portfolio. With a fund volume of €60 million, it can invest up to €5 million per company, targeting sectors such as technology, healthcare, energy, materials science, and environmental technology.
