Future Africa
Overview
Our Fund for Africa’s Future’s core thesis is that Africa’s biggest challenges represent the last remaining opportunity to build large global businesses that leverage science, technology and innovation to put purpose and prosperity within everyone’s reach. By 2035 - less than 15 years from today - Africa will have the youngest and fastest growing workforce in the world and by the end of the century, almost half of the global population will be African with Nigeria projected to be the largest contributor to global population growth. Yet, despite recently achieving the enviable status of being the world’s largest free trade area with the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, Africa’s contribution to global GDP today stands at less than 3%. We believe we have an incredible opportunity to leverage modern science, technology and innovation in building valuable businesses that unlock Africa’s limitless potential by enabling Africa’s incredibly promising and talented youth population to contribute 10x more than they are currently doing to global GDP. The Future Africa, is an early-stage venture capital fund investing at the pre-seed and seed stages in mission-driven founders turning Africa’s biggest challenges into billion dollar global businesses to unlock purpose and prosperity. In our work over the last decade, we have through careful observation, reflection and inspiration developed the TIME framework as a prism for mapping the many challenges that ultimately represent incredible opportunities for VC investments. TIME breaks down into four key themes: Talent, Infrastructure, Markets and Environment. Prefer (not required) $500k - $1M in ARR
