Overview

Gerald Risk is an angel investor and entrepreneur based in San Francisco, California, with experience in technology and financial services. He serves as Vice Chairman of Asurion, the world's largest provider of technology protection services, partnering with top companies and brands to serve over 200 million customers globally. Prior to this role, he was Asurion's President from 2009 to 2013 and Chief Financial Officer for the preceding decade. He has also worked as an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco, Hong Kong, and New York, and has experience with Hambrecht and Quist and the private investment arm of Toronto Dominion Capital. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with honors from Queen's University in Canada. In addition to his role at Asurion, Gerald is an active investor and mentor of entrepreneurial leaders in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. He serves on the Board of Directors of Carillon Assisted Living, HealthCPA, and QMC Telecom. He is also a Lecturer in entrepreneurship at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, where he teaches a variety of classes in entrepreneurship.
