GESOPS

Overview

GESOPS is a Tier-2 pension scheme in Ghana, managed by a Board of Trustees representing various institutions, including the Ministries of Education and Finance, the Attorney General's Department, and educational unions. The scheme receives five out of the 18.5% monthly social security contributions made on workers' behalf. GESOPS focuses on prudent investment policies to ensure the growth and security of its members' funds. The scheme's investment strategy encompasses a diverse range of asset classes, including fixed income, equity, real estate, infrastructure, private equity, commodities, hedge funds, venture capital, crypto, distressed and special situations, ESG and impact investing, and collectibles & art. It targets various stages of investment, such as growth, late stage, pre-IPO, buyout, turnaround, and distressed opportunities. GESOPS primarily invests within Ghana, aiming to support and develop the country's economy. The scheme's investments span multiple industries, including education, financial services, real estate, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, transportation, construction, media, technology, and tourism. This diversified approach seeks to provide stable returns and contribute to national development.
