Overview

The Global Partnerships/Eleos Social Venture Fund (SVF) is an impact-first fund investing in early-stage social enterprises to expand opportunity for people living in poverty in Eastern Africa. The fund was created to address the 'pioneer gap' by supporting early-stage social enterprises with a combination of investment capital and Board-level advisory support. SVF invests in sectors such as education, energy, health, livelihoods, and water and sanitation, focusing on countries in Eastern Africa. SVF provides seed and Series A funding, with investment sizes ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. In addition to financial support, the fund offers Board-level advisory support and specific technical assistance as required. The fund aims to deliver the highest possible impact by broadening opportunity across different facets of poverty, deepening inclusion of underserved people, serving millions through sustainable and scalable solutions, and improving lives by empowering people to earn a living and meet their basic needs. As of December 31, 2025, SVF's portfolio includes companies such as Amped Innovation PBC, Arifu (Akengo Corp.), Good Nature Agro Inc., Kwanza Tukule Foods Ltd, Penda Health Limited, Tugende Global Limited, Turaco, and YYTZ Agro-Processing, Inc. These companies operate in various sectors, including solar energy products, digital learning platforms, agricultural social enterprises, supply-chain intermediaries, outpatient health clinics, microfinance institutions, insurtech, and agro-processing, all aiming to improve the economic position and quality of life for households living in poverty in Eastern Africa.
