Gloria Baeuerlein

Overview

Gloria Baeuerlein is an angel investor and advisor based in Berlin, Germany, focusing on early-stage technology and innovation companies. She has deep experience both as a start-up operator and investor in high-growth European companies. Gloria is currently an advisor, board member, and investor to many early-stage start-ups across Europe, particularly B2B companies. She was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Back, a Berlin-based software start-up that Google invested in and was later acquired by PersonioHR. Prior to that, she led the global strategy team of KRY, Europe’s largest telemedicine provider. Gloria also served as an investor at Index Ventures, focusing on pan-European growth-stage investments, and at Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), a Silicon Valley-based growth equity fund, evaluating investment opportunities in the DACH region and in software and fintech companies across Europe. She began her career at Morgan Stanley, advising technology and telecom clients across Europe and the U.S. on financing rounds, IPOs, and M&A transactions. Gloria is a Vice President of the German Startup Association, the policy voice of the German start-up ecosystem. She is fluent in English, German, and Spanish, and conversational in Swedish. Gloria holds both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany. In 2023, she launched Puzzle Ventures, a €21.5 million solo general partner fund dedicated to partnering with exceptional European pre-seed and seed founders to build transformational B2B companies. This initiative makes her one of the few solo female general partners in Europe. Gloria's investment focus includes sectors such as health care, sports, wellness, apps, consumer health, electronic health records, health and hospital services, digital health, and medical industries. She has been actively involved in angel investing since 2018, backing companies globally in B2B, SaaS, and digital health sectors. Her portfolio includes investments in companies like Rise, Fullview, Exakt Health, Procuros, Synq, and Ravio. Gloria's strategic approach combines her extensive operational experience with a keen eye for high-growth potential in early-stage companies, particularly those leveraging technology to innovate within their industries.
