Overview

Golden Triangle Angel Network (GTAN) is a members-only, not-for-profit organization of accredited investors seeking investment opportunities in promising early-stage businesses. GTAN is Canada's most active early-stage tech investment community, focusing on sectors such as software, hardware, deep tech, medtech, and quantum technologies. The network operates in the Greater Toronto Area, including Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, and Stratford, regions known for their high-tech clusters and innovation ecosystems. GTAN has invested over $150 million into more than 250 companies, leading to over $1 billion in follow-on capital raised by these companies. GTAN offers two primary investment paths: the Pitch Path for founders seeking angel, pre-seed, and seed stage rounds of $750,000 to $5 million, and the Accelerated Path for fast-moving rounds with a strong lead investor secured, typically seed to A rounds no larger than $15 million and sub $50 million valuations. GTAN is committed to investing in Canada's long-term prosperity and providing financial returns, with members representing a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. The network is supported by a dedicated team, including Executive Director Evan Clark, who manages operations, deal-flow, and leadership, and Operations & Admin Manager Melissa Koch, who supports events, communications, and day-to-day activities. GTAN operates under the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation’s Angel Network Program and is a part of the Equation Angels group, collaborating with other angel groups to accelerate the innovation ecosystem for investors and entrepreneurs.
