Overview

Goodwell is an impact investment and advisory firm focused on financial inclusion and sustainable development. Goodwell invests early stage equity in Africa and India and offers advisory services worldwide. \\Goodwell Investments: \Goodwell provides risk capital and hands-on support to fast growing businesses in emerging markets, currently mainly in financial services (microfinance) and increasingly in other impact sectors that combine impact with commercial returns. We have invested in 20 fast growing financial services companies in India and Africa, ranging from classical microfinance to mobile payments and affordable housing finance. Our portfolio companies have reached over 12 million households with more than USD 1.7 billion in loans and other financial services. \We have around Euro 95 mln in committed capital. We are reporting healthy social and financial returns. Goodwell has recently launched uMunthu, a new EUR 100m fund for Sub Sahara Africa, that will invest in financial inclusion, agribusiness and other inclusive growth sectors with a heavy focus on the digital economy.\Our firm and our local teams have become established names in the impact investment sector. We are hands-on equity investors working in partnership with local teams in India (Aavishkaar), Nigeria (Alitheia) and Ghana (JCS) and our own team in South Africa.\\Goodwell Advisory Services:\On the advisory side, Goodwell Advisory Services provides advise focussing on strategic, deal structuring, portfolio allocation and impact evaluation support to impact investment initiatives and impact investors.\\Our investors and clients include social investors, governments, foundations, family offices, development finance institutions, funds-of-funds and pension funds.
