Gordon Crovitz

Overview

Gordon Crovitz is an American media executive and angel investor with extensive experience in the media and technology sectors. He co-founded NewsGuard Technologies in 2018, a company that assesses the reliability of news and information websites. Prior to this, he co-founded Journalism Online, LLC in 2009, providing e-commerce solutions for publishers. From 1980 to 2007, Crovitz held various positions at Dow Jones & Company, including publisher of The Wall Street Journal and executive vice president. He also served as interim CEO of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt from 2016 to 2017. As an angel investor, Crovitz has been involved with several early-stage companies, including Halogen Media, Quid, Skift, SkyGrid, SocialMedian, and WatchUp. He is also an investor in Betaworks, a New York-based startup incubator.
