Hatter Angel Network

Overview

The Hatter Angel Network is a student-led angel investment network at Stetson University, comprising alumni and faculty investors. The network collaborates with students in the Venture Capital & Angel Investing class to evaluate and invest in early-stage companies, providing real-world experience in startup funding. The network's investment focus is broad, encompassing various industries and stages of company development. They have made investments using convertible notes, fixed-price equity, and SAFE agreements, and have invested both directly and through Special Purpose LLCs to bundle funds at the company's request. The network's typical investment size is around $200,000, and they often request a board observer position for a student for 3-6 months to gain experience and contribute to the company's success. To date, the network has invested over $1.15 million in multiple companies, including Streann Media and Grocery Shopii. The network is open to Stetson University graduates and faculty/staff who are accredited investors and pledge 50% of their profits back to the program. The network also accepts donations of time, experience, talents, and money to support its mission.
