Henley Business Angels
Overview
Henley Business Angels (HBA) is a network of experienced business leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and investors. The network’s aim is to facilitate opportunities for members to invest in and mentor (S)EIS registered early-stage businesses launched by entrepreneurs who graduated from or are connected with Henley Business School and the University of Reading. Henley Business Angels is also keen to support and educate entrepreneurs to contribute to the quality of the founder ecosystem, through initiatives such as their quarterly Investment Readiness Workshop. HBA holds regular events, including investment pitches, high-profile guest speakers, and networking receptions. The network typically invests in early-stage businesses raising between £50,000 and £500,000 or more in seed equity investment. Henley Business Angels is not a fund and is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Since its establishment in 2016, HBA members have invested over £2.5 million in 50 companies, including KYMIRA, Snaffling Pig, OKKO Health, Extend Robotics, Scalpel, and Nix & Kix. The network is also a member of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA), which provides training to members, access to its resources, and helps with forging links with other business angel networks to share deal flows.
