Hossein Eslambolchi is an Iranian-American businessman and investor, recognized for his significant contributions to technology and telecommunications. He earned his B.S., M.S., Ph.D., and post-doctoral degrees in Applied Physics from the University of California, San Diego, graduating with highest honors. In 1986, he joined AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he held various leadership positions, including Global Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Officer, President and CEO of AT&T Labs, and President & CEO of AT&T Global Network Services. During his tenure, he was instrumental in transforming AT&T into a global IP network, advocating for an MPLS architecture based on Ethernet to enable all services to run on IP. He also developed the Service Over IP architecture to migrate legacy services to new platforms. Eslambolchi holds over 1,400 patents and has received numerous accolades, including the AT&T Science & Technology Medal and the IEEE Chairman Quality Award. In 2013, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. After leaving AT&T in 2006, Eslambolchi co-founded CyberFlow Analytics, a company specializing in security-based analytics solutions against APT-based hacking using advanced statistical algorithms. He also serves as Chairman and CEO of 2020 Venture Partners, a private investment firm focusing on technology and operations consulting for private equity firms, service providers, corporate enterprise customers, venture capitalists, and start-ups.
