Ian Davis

Overview

Ian Davis is a senior executive with over 35 years of experience in media, education, and telecommunications, having held roles such as Managing Director at Telstra Television and CEO of a U.S.-based educational publishing company. He has also worked with major management consulting firms, including The Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, and Monitor Deloitte. In the past decade, Davis has been instrumental in launching several new businesses, including developing the original business case for Kayo Sports and leading a major transformation program for Foxtel. In addition to his corporate roles, Davis has been actively involved with tech startups and scale-ups, serving as a mentor, advisor, non-executive director, and angel investor. He currently has a portfolio of 18 companies, including Jibb.ai, Abyss Solutions, Dotterel, Truescope, and Surfbee. He has also been an LP in two venture capital funds and has helped raise over $50 million in capital across more than 20 funding rounds. Davis is also committed to philanthropic work, having served as Chair of Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School for 10 years and on the Development Committee for the Australian Chamber Orchestra for eight years. He currently splits his time between his startup and scale-up activities, investing in and advising young tech companies, including his five non-executive director roles, and contract consulting, focusing on commercializing new digital business ventures for large corporates.
