Overview

Indraventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Indra, a global technology and consulting company headquartered in Spain. It serves as the primary vehicle for Indra's corporate innovation, promoting and supporting innovation both internally and externally. The firm operates through a collaborative model that seeks to develop initiatives within an open ecosystem, maximizing their impact. Indraventures engages with a wide range of external agents, including startups, universities, technology centers, spin-offs, and accelerators, as well as Indra's own professionals, to drive innovation. The firm's main functions include channeling and supporting collaboration and partnerships with external agents of the innovation ecosystem, driving investment and acceleration of startups, spin-offs, and innovative initiatives in the maturity phase, monitoring incubation through to the final inclusion in the portfolio or exit of the investee, and managing the complete intrapreneurship cycle within the company. Indraventures invests directly in a range of €50,000 to €500,000 in successive rounds, with higher investments articulated through mergers and acquisitions. The firm also provides support in development and acceleration, channeling Indra's contribution of human capital, technology, or infrastructures, depending on the needs of the initiative. Indraventures has been involved in various initiatives to foster innovation, including the Innovators program, which mobilizes Indra's internal talent to generate and capture disruptive ideas. The program has seen significant participation from Indra's professionals worldwide, resulting in numerous innovative proposals. Additionally, Indraventures has supported collaborations with external players at the forefront of innovation, such as startups, universities, technology centers, spin-offs, and accelerators. In 2019 alone, Indraventures analyzed more than 500 startups, signed collaborative agreements, and invested capital in startups aligned with Indra's strategy, focusing particularly on their early stages and medium- and long-term development phases. Through these efforts, Indraventures aims to reinforce Indra's leadership in technology and innovation, contributing to the company's growth and the advancement of the sectors it serves, including aerospace, defense, mobility, and technology. The firm's commitment to innovation is also reflected in Indra's significant investments in research and development, with plans to invest more than €3 billion in R&D until 2030. This investment underscores Indraventures' role in driving Indra's strategic objectives and its dedication to fostering a culture of innovation both within and beyond the company.
