Inovent is Turkey's first technology commercialization and seed fund company, established in 2006 as a subsidiary of Sabancı University. It focuses on the commercialization of early-stage technologies, particularly fostering faculty-based entrepreneurship. Inovent manages the commercialization of technologies that are still at an early stage, aiming to create a dynamic ecosystem that supports innovative technology-based entrepreneurship and venture capital infrastructure. It also advises Turkish government authorities on intellectual property law, technology transfer infrastructures, and the creation of risk investment incentives. Inovent has considerable experience in managing university technology portfolios, identifying technologies and business plans with commercial potential. Since its launch, Inovent has incorporated 19 startups, 3 of which are Inovent seed fund companies, and has had 4 successful exits. Its mission includes fostering awareness of the importance of creating a nationwide dynamic ecosystem that supports innovative technology-based entrepreneurship, dynamic venture capital, and angel investor infrastructures, while promoting the proper management of intellectual assets and intellectual property portfolios at the core of an entire value management system and a driver of knowledge-based economic development.
