Overview

Invest PGH is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) established in 2020, dedicated to fostering economic and community development in Pittsburgh's underserved areas. Governed by a five-member board, the organization focuses on providing financial services to economically disadvantaged individuals and communities, aiming to promote local growth and job creation. The institution offers a range of loan programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of small businesses. These include the Startup & Mini Advancement Loan (SMAL), providing up to $30,000 for working capital, equipment, inventory, and leasehold improvements; the Accelerating Business Expansion Loan (ABEL), offering up to $200,000 for real estate purchases, development, or construction; and the Childcare Reinvestment Business (CRiB) fund, a forgivable loan program supporting childcare facilities with up to $20,000. Invest PGH's mission is to create economic opportunities for underserved individuals and low- to moderate-income communities in Pittsburgh. By offering access to capital for existing businesses, entrepreneurs, and community-based organizations, the organization aims to stimulate business creation and expansion, job creation, and the preservation of affordable childcare, thereby contributing to the city's economic revitalization efforts.
