Overview

Investindustrial Acquisition Corp. is a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) formed to acquire a European business in the consumer sector. The company was incorporated in 2020 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol IIAC.U. It was sponsored by Investindustrial Acquisition Corp. L.P., a limited partnership whose majority investor is an independently managed investment subsidiary of Investindustrial VII L.P. The SPAC's units began trading on the NYSE on November 19, 2020. In December 2021, Investindustrial Acquisition Corp. completed a reverse merger with Ermenegildo Zegna Holditalia S.p.A., a global luxury group, effectively becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Zegna. Following this transaction, Investindustrial Acquisition Corp. ceased to operate as an independent entity and is no longer active as a separate investment firm. Prior to the merger, Investindustrial Acquisition Corp. was focused on targeting European companies with an enterprise value between $1 billion and $5 billion, primarily in the consumer, healthcare, industrial, and technology sectors. The company aimed to leverage its industrial expertise and operational focus to drive value creation and international expansion for its portfolio companies.
