Overview

Jan Christoph Gras is a German angel investor with a background in technology and entrepreneurship. He co-founded his first company in 2004, one of the first providers of photobooks worldwide. After the exit of myphotobook, he co-founded epubli, a publishing house 2.0, which was acquired by the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. He holds three diplomas from the ESCP Europe in Paris, Oxford, and Berlin. In 2008, Gras co-founded Berlin Ventures, an angel fund that has invested in over 40 technology startups in Europe and the US. In 2017, he co-founded Tomorrow, Europe's leading sustainable mobile bank, and serves as a board member. He is also a founding member of Leaders for Climate Action, an association of digital entrepreneurs committed to climate protection. Since May 2021, Gras has been serving as a General Partner at Planet A Ventures, a venture capital fund focused exclusively on European green tech startups with technologies that have a demonstrable significant impact on the climate and environment. The fund has invested in several companies, including Arsenale Bioyards, Project Eaden, Optiml, Paleo, and Carbon Re. Gras holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management from ESCP Business School and has been actively involved in various accelerator programs and as a guest lecturer at different universities.
