Jason Chan is a seasoned cybersecurity expert and angel investor with over 20 years of experience. He is particularly passionate about large-scale systems, cloud security, and enhancing security in modern software development practices. Previously, Jason built and led the information security team at Netflix for over a decade, contributing significantly to the security community through numerous open-source releases and conference presentations. Since retiring from Netflix in July 2021, he has been advising various startups and serving as an Executive in Residence at Bessemer Venture Partners. Jason enjoys coaching, mentoring, and helping individuals from underrepresented groups enter and advance in the cybersecurity industry. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, running ultramarathons, and volunteering in habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and wildfire management.
