Javier Megias

Overview

Javier Megias is an angel investor and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in startups and venture capital. He has co-founded two startups and led operations in both multinational corporations and small to medium-sized enterprises across sectors such as finance, defense, aerospace, and information technology. His expertise encompasses management, innovation, and operations, having managed teams of over 80 people and served on various boards of companies and venture capital funds. Approximately a decade ago, Megias transitioned into venture capital, initially leading Bankinter’s venture capital program and later becoming Managing Partner for EMEA venture capital funds at Plug and Play. In March 2024, he returned to an operational role as European Director and Chief Operating Officer at Frenetic, a deep-tech scaleup specializing in power electronics and magnetics. In this capacity, he oversees the company's European operations and strategic initiatives. In addition to his role at Frenetic, Megias serves as an independent board member for traditional companies and technology transfer vehicles, contributing his extensive experience to guide organizations through growth and innovation. His investment philosophy focuses on supporting early-stage companies with high growth potential, particularly in technology-driven sectors, aiming to foster innovation and scalability in the European market.
