Kirk Ouimet

Overview

Kirk Ouimet is an angel investor and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. He co-founded Scan, Inc., a mobile technology company that developed a popular QR code scanning app. The company was acquired by Snap Inc. in 2014 for $54 million. Following the acquisition, Ouimet led engineering teams at Snap, contributing to the scaling of the engineering team from 30 to over 1,000 engineers and authoring over 20 patents. He also built creative tools used by hundreds of millions of Snapchat users. After his tenure at Snap, Ouimet focused on investing and advising startups, with a portfolio in the FinTech and Multimedia and Design Software industries. He is also an angel investor with a portfolio in the FinTech and Multimedia and Design Software industries. In January 2022, he invested in Giddy, a company that raised $8 million in a Seed VC round. Ouimet is also the founder and CEO of Phi, a company focusing on increasing one's lifespan. He is an avid cryptocurrency enthusiast and actively participates in the space. He is currently focused on investing in and advising Web3 companies and DAOs, and is an LP/Mentor for Web3 at Convoi Ventures. His other interests include nanotechnology, artificial general intelligence, biological immortality, and games.
