Overview

KnowBe4 Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of KnowBe4, a leading provider of security awareness training and simulated phishing platforms. Established in August 2022, the venture arm focuses on investing in early-stage cybersecurity startups that address the human element of security. The initiative aims to support companies that strengthen and support the human layer of cybersecurity, aligning with KnowBe4's mission to enhance security culture and mitigate human-related risks. The investment strategy of KnowBe4 Ventures includes co-investing in security startups that are actively raising funds, have a lead investor identified, possess a product in the market with initial customer traction, and demonstrate compelling financial strategies and long-term growth potential. The venture arm has partnered with existing leading cybersecurity venture funds, such as Elephant Partners and TenEleven Ventures, to identify and support promising startups in the cybersecurity space. Portfolio companies of KnowBe4 Ventures include Adlumin, a cloud-native Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platform, and LUMU Technologies, a company specializing in cybersecurity solutions. These investments reflect KnowBe4 Ventures' commitment to enhancing the human layer of cybersecurity by supporting innovative companies that align with its strategic focus. KnowBe4 Ventures operates under the umbrella of KnowBe4, which was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in February 2023. This acquisition provides KnowBe4 Ventures with additional resources and operational expertise to enhance customer value and support the growth of its portfolio companies. The partnership with Vista Equity Partners enables KnowBe4 Ventures to leverage a global network and operational resources to scale its investments and impact in the cybersecurity sector.
