L&G NTR Clean Power Fund

Overview

The L&G NTR Clean Power Fund is a collaborative initiative between NTR, a leading renewable energy specialist, and Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), one of Europe's largest asset managers. Established in 2023, the fund aims to accelerate Europe's transition to a low-carbon economy by investing in clean power infrastructure assets, including wind, solar, and energy storage projects. It provides diversified exposure across various stages of asset development, from early-stage development to operational assets, thereby supporting Europe's decarbonisation and energy security objectives. The fund's investment strategy focuses on acquiring assets at different lifecycle stages, ensuring a balanced portfolio that generates immediate revenue while positioning for future growth. As of March 2025, the fund has invested approximately €385 million in eleven assets across six European countries, with six of these assets fully operational. The portfolio is capable of generating 1,631 GWh of clean energy annually, sufficient to power over 295,000 homes and avoid 187,440 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. NTR leverages its extensive experience in developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy projects across Europe, while LGIM contributes its substantial scale and institutional investment capabilities. This partnership effectively navigates the complex financial, regulatory, and operational landscapes of energy transition projects, aiming to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for institutional investors. The fund's approach aligns with the European Union's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, emphasizing its commitment to responsible investment practices and the promotion of sustainable infrastructure development.
